Whats new and happening ?
Need to borrow a bike, come into the Invercargill Environment Centre, SIT Arcade, 46 Esk street and borrow helmet, bike and lock for gold coin donation.

Recreational water monitoring - weekly updates


Check out whether the following sites have heath risks associated with water monitored in the following areas.
Bluff, Morrison Beach, Ocean Beach ,
Western Southland, Lake Te Anau, Lake Manapouri, Waiau River, Tutapere, Aparima River, Thornbury, Jacobs River estuary, Monkey island, Kawakaputa Bay , Colac Bay, Riverton Rocks

Bike repairs-  Bike doctor reopens 29th of January 11.00-4pm
For those who need some advice on bike repairs, or some help. We have a Bike Doctor service Fridays 11.00-1.00pm. St Johns Church Hall, Tay street opposite Pak n Save. Gold Coin donation.
 
Food sharing network
Interested in being part of a food sharing network- The network is intended for those who wish to be part of a co-op where surplus food(such as vegetables, eggs, honey , and other safe and not so perishable foods) is listed or brought to an exchange or pick up place where those who want fresh, grown with integrity foods are able to get or exchange for weekly supply. Our aims are
  • Be a one stop shop for Environmental resources.
  • Be a centre for the creative exchange of ideas between interested groups and individuals.
  • Help people with an interest in the environment to connect with appropriate activities and groups.
We run many projects and activities, including:
  • Clean up days
  • Eco themed film evenings
  • Playbox hire to Kindies.
  • Painting fish on storm water drains.
  • Kidzone activity room
Want to help us
  • We would like to invite anyone to join us in staffing our environment centre on a regular or irregular basis.
  • The time can be a few hours or a half day, from 10am - 1pm and/or 1pm - 4pm.
  • The centre and shop is open from 10 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Please contact us for any information you need.
